Release candidate 1.0.0-rc1

What the release candidate means

The feature set of version 1.0 is complete. Until the final version, only bug fixes and texts will change, plus the remaining live tests with devices and code signing once a certificate is available. Anyone testing Hiatus Remote in their own environment gets with rc1 what 1.0.0 will be later.

New since the last state

• Security review M8 completed: all findings that needed fixing are implemented; the remaining ones were decided individually and documented.
• Installer: MSI with optional service and parameters for deployment (ADDLOCAL, access code, keep data directory). An upgrade keeps all settings; uninstalling removes everything.
• Distributing the relay: a relay file that pre-fills the setup dialog, and the relay as a Docker image for current Docker and QNAP Container Station.
• About Hiatus Remote: version with build state, Qt version with licence notice and a filterable list of third-party components from the SBOM data.
• Safety net: if the QUIC handshake on the direct path does not succeed, the session restarts via the relay instead of aborting.

Known limitations

• macOS is deferred; Linux runs on X11, Wayland will follow.
• Signatures (Authenticode, minisign) will be added with the final 1.0.0.
• Live tests with older Android devices (Android 10 and earlier) are still pending.
